Our Story

The Warri International Film Festival (WIFF) is an annual celebration of cinema, held every December 8th to 12th in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria.

Registered in 2021 and launched with its maiden edition in December 2025, WIFF was founded to revive Warri’s rich film-making legacy, create a thriving film village, and position the city as a global hub for cinematic excellence. The festival features workshops, masterclasses, screenings, and awards, bringing together filmmakers, creative economy investors, and cultural enthusiasts from around the world.

Endorsed by prominent Warri personalities like Richard Mofe Damijo and Alibaba Akpobome, WIFF is committed to showcasing diverse stories from Africa and the diaspora, fostering international collaborations, and empowering the next generation of filmmakers through education and skill acquisition.

Our Mission

To empower filmmakers through education, provide a global platform for diverse stories, and foster a thriving cinematic ecosystem in Nigeria and beyond. WIFF is dedicated to promoting cultural exchange, celebrating artistic excellence, and supporting the growth of the creative industry in Warri and across Africa.

Our Vision

To be the leading international film festival in Africa, recognized globally for excellence, innovation, and its contribution to the global film industry. WIFF aims to establish Warri as a premier destination for film production, cultural tourism, and creative entrepreneurship.
